It took Eimear McBride just 6 months to write A Girl is a Half-Formed Thing but almost a decade to get it published.
Last night, this hard work paid off as McBride was awarded the rebranded Baileys Women’s Prize for Fiction.
“It’s very hard to be a failure and a little success is a great relief.” Eimear McBride told Waterstones in a recent interview.
