Jeremy Zimmerman was fed up with seeing the enjoyment of poetry being lost to the 21st century fixation with smartphones and social media. So, at the age of 81, he has decided to release a beautiful anthology of poems designed to be read with children of all ages and to help keep alive the tradition of reading poetry to kids.

“The grandchildren weren’t learning any poetry at school, so I picked up a couple of anthologies, but the print was too small, there were too many boring poems, and I realised that I was reading badly. I decided to have a go at a better mousetrap. It seems to work on my grandchildren.”

The book is the perfect gift to any parent, grandparent or family member to read with children of any age so that in years to come they will do the same with their kids, keeping the tradition alive.

It is beautifully presented and finished in hardback, and includes instructions on how to read the poems to children.

“…the only way to avoid the extinction of poetry as a part of real life rather than just pages in an exhibition at the British Library is to pass it on to your kids.

The book is available to pre-order now from Amazon. It will be released on May 20th.

We also have a limited number of review copies available to people in exchange for a review, media coverage, interview or feature about the book.

    Jeremy Zimmerman

Jeremy has started a new career at the age of 81 as writer/editor/publisher.

He started with a 3 year course in textiles at Huddersfield Tech, followed by two or three crummy jobs in fabric. These were followed by 4 great years travelling all over the world  selling quality Yorkshire suitings, in the days when we still made them. Then he joined an American textile company (BVD) before buying a couple of its less successful UK subsidiaries, which under his management became even less successful. After this Jeremy switched from UK manufacturing to importing T-shirts, which led to printed t-shirts and then to importing stationery and gifts from all over the world.

This involved a lot of travelling, meeting interesting people, and good food. So many people asked for his travel advice that he started a travel agency, which was very useful when travelling.

Happily married with 2 daughters, and two granddaughters, he lives in London within walking distance of Lords Cricket Ground.
